Not sure you can read the sign in the picture, but as I pass this everyday while driving Blair to work, we both get a huge kick out of it!  The restaurant is named Pedro O'Hara's and beneath the name it states it serves American Mexican Irish Cuisine with a  Mexican leprechaun (he's wearing a sombrero) holding a beer in one hand and a shot of tequila in the other!  Oh yes, I can't forget he is doing a jig.......

If you are wondering where we are, this is downtown Lewiston, ME, at 7:50 in the morning.  When we first arrived in Maine, we were very impressed on how cordial everyone is on the road.  The house we are temporarily living in is on a major street, and we NEVER hear anyone ever honk at anyone.  Not having air conditioning (very very few people do as we don't need it) our windows are always opened.  Not hearing slamming of brakes, squeals of tires or honking is quite different from being in Philly!!  However, after several days here, it suddenly occurred to us that the reason everyone is so cordial is that NO one is on the road!!WHOA!! Look at the picture, see what I mean???

Just a side note for another quick fun fact......the entire state of Maine has the same area code.  What???  Do you know how cool that is???  I only have to memorize 7 numbers!  Yay!  Where's that fun fact when determining the top 10 places to retire to????  Come on people who write these stories on Yahoo, get on the ball!!!

Ok, getting back to Pedro O'Hara's!  After writing this little tale, I've come to realize I'm a little bit like this restaurant... a little Irish, a little American and while not Mexican, I definitely LOVE to eat it!  The restaurant actually looks like a lot of fun, at least I get it that the owners have a funny sense of humor.  We've decided we are going to try it this weekend.

Stay tuned!
